things i accomplished in 2025:
i graduated
finished my internship at comcast
got an offer from nbcuniversal as a data engineer
started working at kruiz and helped launch the app + raise a lot of moolah
things that happened in 2025:
my last real goodbye to college. my last akpsi mixer at ucr, my college birthday party at the mu house — all the final “college” moments.
the saddest part of the year: my brother, darien, passed away. i went to his funeral and helped his parents create the darien lin foundation. so much sadness, but also so much learning. i reflected deeply and my perspective on life completely changed. i miss you so much, darien, and i hope you’re in a better place. i still can’t believe you’re gone.
ended the year with one last big rager with hella other dem chapters — easily the biggest party yet. after graduating, i celebrated with my family, went bar hopping, then flew out to new hampshire at 4am the same day (almost missed my flight lol). stayed a couple days, then flew back to socal.
last hangouts with my housemates. last moments as a college student as my lease ended. i had a really fun summer — laguna beach trips, movie nights, bar hopping with the boys, and going to lost in my dreams.
a huge highlight: i went to new york for 10 days with soma, buster, and nay. unreal trip.
i officially ended my comcast internship and, after five long interviews, received an offer from nbcu as a data engineer for their 2-year rotational program.
right after my internship ended, i jumped straight into kruiz and was thrown into the fire as a pm. the first two months were a wild ride, but things eventually clicked. we got the app launched, it actually works, and we even made it to times square. i learned a ton about product, got my stocks, and built new relationships along the way.
i also got an intern — maddy. still figuring out how to be a good manager when i was literally an intern just a few months ago.
i flew to vietnam and saw the motherland. i lived like a local, saw my mom’s + aunt/uncles' old house, and visited the place my grandma grew up. i met family i didn’t even know existed. it was eye-opening, emotional, and an amazing experience — even though it was definitely a rocky ride at times lol.
i went to japan for the first time too. completely different vibe, super interesting, and such a fun place to experience.
ending the year feeling grateful. i want to finish strong with kruiz and go into next year with an open mind.
there was so much change this year, and i’m thankful for every experience — the good, the bad, and everything in between.
next year will bring even more change and uncertainty, but i’m excited for the challenge and to keep navigating my early 20s.
wish me luck. i’ll see you next year with another yearly update.
